Overview:

Slip-Angle's first automotive product, MapMaker, allows you to view datalogging information collected during your autocross or track runs in an intuitive way. You can use the mapping feature to reproduce the path your car took, allowing you to visually associate your data logging information with the point on course they are occuring. MapMaker can easily be adapted to accept input from almost any g-force or GPS based data logging system. Currently full support for the Gtech-RR and Gtech Competition Pro is available, and Edelbrock QwickData support is in the works. To request support for your data logging system, please email me. Slip-Angle Software is dedicated to meeting the needs of racers and is open to feature suggestions and always improving its product. Feel free to send an email with any ideas, requests, or complaints you might have. You can expect a prompt response.

Race Tested Results!

Identifying problems in your driving or car setup can be very difficult. Friends may give you conflicting advice, and car setup changes may be too subtle for you to perceive. Datalogging can help take a lot of the guesswork away. You can use the friction circle to identiy exactly what the flaws are in your driving. You can compare runs to see which portions of the course you actually went slower on. You can analyze your sustained Gs to see if changes have added or removed grip. After using my own software to evaluate my own driving, I could see that I was not fully using the braking potential of my car. The very next day I made an effort to get on the brakes later and harder, resulting in my first ever #1 pax result in the Houston region!

Hardware Requirements:

I currently recomend the Gtech Pro-RR for datalogging hardware. It is effective, affordable, and has many useful features. I have found it to be very usable in an autocross setting. You may purchase one at SoloPerformance The older Gtech Competition Pro will also work and you may be able to find some used ones at an excellent price.

Special thanks to Jeff Hoye, and to the many early users who helped find bugs in the software!
